As we stepped out of Incheon Airport, we were greeted by our friendly driver, who would be our reliable transport to our cozy Airbnb in Itaewon. The chilly weather took us by surprise, with temperatures dropping to -4 degrees Celsius. Thankfully, we had packed our warmest clothes and were ready to embrace the cold.

After settling into our accommodation and taking a much-needed rest, we woke up early the next morning, eager to kick-start our South Korean adventure. Our first stop was the vibrant district of Myeongdong, where we indulged in a delicious lunch. The aroma of sizzling street food filled the air, enticing us to try various delicacies and flavors unique to this bustling area.

This is the playground in the neighborhood that is often seen in the KDrama Itaewon Class. It is just outside our AirBnB Accommodation.

After indulging in a delightful lunch in the bustling district of Myeongdong, we continued our adventure by visiting the stunning Metropolitan Cathedral.

Located in the heart of Seoul, the Metropolitan Cathedral is a magnificent architectural gem that holds great significance for both locals and visitors. As we approached the cathedral, its grandeur and intricate design left us in awe. The sheer beauty of the structure, with its towering spires and intricate stained-glass windows, was a sight to behold.

Stepping inside, we were greeted by a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The interior of the cathedral was adorned with stunning religious artwork and ornate decorations. We took a moment to appreciate the spiritual ambiance and reflected on the history and cultural importance of this sacred place.

As we explored further, we learned about the cathedral’s rich history and its role in shaping the religious landscape of South Korea. It served as a symbol of resilience and faith during challenging times, making it a significant landmark for the local Catholic community.

Our visit to the Metropolitan Cathedral was not only a chance to admire its architectural beauty but also a moment of quiet contemplation and cultural immersion. We marveled at the intricate details, lit candles for personal reflections, and took a moment to appreciate the religious and historical significance of this sacred space.

Leaving the cathedral, we felt a sense of tranquility and gratitude. The experience had deepened our understanding of South Korean culture and left a lasting impression on our hearts.

The Metropolitan Cathedral in Myeongdong is undoubtedly a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Seoul. Its awe-inspiring architecture, serene ambiance, and rich cultural heritage make it a place of beauty and spirituality. As we continued our adventure, we carried the memories of this remarkable visit, grateful for the opportunity to experience such a significant landmark.

Next on our itinerary, we made our way to Namsam Tower, a must-visit landmark in Seoul. Namsan Tower, also known as N Seoul Tower, is an iconic landmark in Seoul, South Korea. Situated atop Namsan Mountain, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the cityscape. As we ascended the tower, we were captivated by the panoramic views of the city sprawling below us. The sight was truly breathtaking, and we couldn’t resist snapping countless photos to preserve the memories.

We marveled at the stunning scenery unfolding before our eyes. The observation deck provided an ideal vantage point to witness the urban splendor, surrounded by lush greenery. Inside the tower, we discovered an array of cultural exhibitions, including traditional Korean art and history. There was a Hello Kitty Island located at the 5th Floor where you can snap pictures and buy souvenirs. Of course, if you have little girls in tow, these are perfect spot for them to enjoy.

Namsan Tower tour wouldn’t be complete without stopping by and marvel at the tons of Love Locks displays. The Love Luck is a charming tradition where couples attach padlocks adorned with their initials to the fence, symbolizing their endless love. The sight was a testament to the romantic allure of the place. We decided to take part in the Love Luck Hearts experience and purchased a heart-shaped lock and wrote #TeamGonzaga Forever and Kelly & Jho Forever. With a mix of excitement and love, we found the perfect spot on the fence and secured our love lock, joining the countless others. It was a beautiful gesture, feeling a connection to the thousands of love stories represented by those locks and grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a whimsical tradition at Namsan Tower.

Returning to Myeongdong, we couldn’t resist exploring the lively streets once again. The vibrant atmosphere, filled with enthusiastic shoppers and mouthwatering street food, was simply irresistible. We indulged in local delicacies, immersing ourselves in the culinary wonders of South Korea. And, of course, we couldn’t resist doing a little shopping, picking up unique souvenirs, trendy fashion items and hoarding Korean beauty products along the way.

As the day drew to a close, we headed back to our cozy Airbnb, reminiscing about the incredible experiences and delectable food trips we had. The fatigue from the day’s adventures was apparent, but our hearts were filled with excitement for the days to come.
